continuing our discussion on outcast this week we continued to look at short stories by aimee bender. we
ReplyDeletehave talked about outcast based on there beliefs and actions such as Fleur. We have now progressed to
outcast based on their appearance. "Iron head" is about a boy born with an iron as a head. he was born
into a family of pumpkin heads. He was a double outcast because he didn't look like his family and the rest
of the world was human.
The ironhead boy was so desperate for attention that he went t0 an appliance store and pretended to
the irons to be part of his family. later that day he was found dead. i think he died because he was carrying
emotional weight on his shoulders. i think he just couldn't take the pain any more. his parents did not talk
to him about his feelings and if they had taken time to help him he may have still been alive.
